The NFL Week 3 lineup is rich with riveting matchups. Fans are in for two divisional battles, two Super Bowl rematches, and another Monday night doubleheader.
Week 2 highlights
Week 2 was thrilling with 12 games decided by a single score. This equals a record for such close finishes in the NFL’s single-week history. So far, 75% of games have had a one-score margin in the fourth quarter. This shows the competitive spirit of the league.
Coaches and players to watch
Kansas City’s head coach, Andy Reid, is near a notable milestone. With a next win, he’ll overtake Tom Landry with 270 wins, becoming the fourth-winningest head coach in NFL history. Only Don Shula, Bill Belichick, and George Halas have more wins.
Green Bay’s quarterback, Jordan Love, is another one to watch. If he delivers touchdown passes in three of his first four career starts, he’ll join an elite group. This group includes Patrick Mahomes, Mark Rypien, and Kurt Warner.
Divisional showdowns
The NFC East has shone since 2022, with 50 wins, the highest by any division. Dallas, Philadelphia, and Washington each hold a 2-0 record this season. The last 3-0 start by three teams in a division was in 2002. The NFC South also has three teams eyeing a 3-0 start.
Clubs eyeing a perfect start
Nine clubs aim for a 3-0 start in Week 3. Among them, Philadelphia and Tampa Bay will clash head-on. Historically, a strong start often leads to a postseason berth.
Firsts of the season
Week 3 brings the first home game of 2023 for Green Bay, Las Vegas, Miami, and San Francisco. Meanwhile, Atlanta, Denver, New England, and Pittsburgh will hit the road for the first time.
Week 3 promises high-octane football action. With milestone pursuits, divisional contests, Super Bowl flashbacks, and teams aiming to maintain an undefeated streak, the excitement is palpable. The unfolding drama and boundless passion continue to define NFL football’s essence.
