Super Bowl LVI is just days away now and everybody is feverishly awaiting the kick-off. We saw the Tampa Bay Buccaneers take down the Kansas City Chiefs in Tampa Bay around this time last year. This season, we have the Cincinnati Bengals going up against the Los Angeles Rams in their own stadium. Ironically, it is back-to-back years now that one team has made it into the Super Bowl that happens to be played in their home stadium. The Rams are already listed as four-point favourites walking into this game, but if the past has taught us anything, it’s that crazier upsets have happened.
The game is going to be played at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 13th. If you are hoping to somehow get tickets and show up there in person, the game will be at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Some analysts have reported the anticipated length of the Super Bowl as well. In the past 20 years, the average Super Bowl runtime is three and a half hours long, including a halftime show that takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Speaking of the halftime show, we have a stacked group ready to show up. The artists that are going to be performing are Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and Mary J. Blige. Fun fact, these artists have won a combined 43 Grammy awards throughout their respective careers.
Now to talk about the actual game a small bit. The Bengals are underdogs because nobody expected them to get here. They placed dead last in their division just a year ago and somehow fought their way to two tough road victories and a home victory in the Wild Card Round to make it up to this point. Joe Burrow is just in his second year as a quarterback and is coming off a very major knee injury that occurred in the middle of his rookie year. What this squad has been able to do all season long is nothing short of fantastic. Their confidence and swagger may be what helps them win this game in the end.
However, the Los Angeles Rams are surely going to have something to say about that. Matthew Stafford spent a lot of years as the quarterback of the Detroit Lions, suffering losing season after losing season. In just one year with the Rams, he has led them to a Super Bowl. The excellent play of Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham have helped him out a lot during the postseason as well. This team wouldn’t be here without their defense though. Jalen Ramsey is arguably the best cornerback in the league, Aaron Donald IS the best defensive tackle in the league and Super Bowl Champion Von Miller is rushing the passer alongside him. This team has star talent all over their roster but overlooking the Bengals would be a critical mistake. Side fact, their head coach Sean McVay made history as the youngest Super Bowl coach ever a few years ago when he got the Rams to the big game. They ended up losing that game, but years later, he is still the youngest Super Bowl coach in history at 36 years old.
