ATL Falcons (7-12) @ CAR Panthers (7-12)
Both teams now out of playoff contention, this one is for NFC South pride. Cam Newton is suffering with a shoulder injury and it’s said he’ll play through it. Matt Ryan has had a great statistic season and will feel aggrieved at not making the ProBowl. Hard to call this one as neither has much to play for but the Falcons could have too much on offense to counter the Panther home advantage.
MIN Vikings (7-12) @ DET Lions (7-12)
Some weeks the Vikings look good and some weeks they look bad. Either one could show up in Detroit for this must win game for the Vikings to stay in the 6th seed spot in the NFC. The Lions have not had a good season but have provided a couple of upsets including New England at home. They could play spoiler again here against an NFC North rival. Could go either way.
HOU Texans (1-6) @ PHI Eagles (1-6 7-12)
Are the Eagles back with their Super Bowl quarterback under center again? They played the Rams well Sunday night and return home with a bit of momentum. They could be dangerous if they sneak into the playoffs and their running game is now delivering and Foles to Jeffrey will cause the Texans some problems. The Eagles may struggle to contain Hopkins at WR but will be hoping their D-line can pressurise a porous Texans Offensive line. Give the edge to the Eagles here in a close one.
BUF Bills @ NE Patriots (13-18 19-24)
There’s no team the Patriots like beating in the Bill Belichick era than the Bills so what a perfect game for New England off the back of two consecutive defeats. They’ll need to stop Josh Allen’s scrambling but Foxboro can expect to see the offense take out their frustration on a decent Bills defense. Many have been questioning Brady’s waning abilities this week so expect to see him come out firing in what will probably be a blowout.
PIT Steelers (1-6) @ NO Saints (7-12)
The Steelers need to keep winning to make the playoffs and the Saints need to keep winning to make sure they get the number one NFC seed. One of the games of the weekend involving two recently spluttering offenses and although the Saints are formidable at home it could come down to whoever has the last possession.
KC Chiefs (1-6 7-12) @ SEA Seahawks
Seattle has done better than most people expected this year and have just fallen short in games against the best teams in the league. Expect a similar story here. The Chiefs offense will have too much for the young Seahawk secondary and are likely to move out to a lead early on followed by a Russell Wilson led rally that’ll just fall short.
DEN Broncos @ OAK Raiders (7-12 13-18)
What a mess the NFL finds itself in that thisgame is being played on Monday night and will potentially be the last ever gamethe Raiders play in Oakland. They’ve shown signs of rallying in the latter partof the season and the emotion of the game could be too much for a despondentBroncos team who were knocked out of playoff contention by the Browns lastweek. Derek Carr is playing the best he has all season and could see them homehere in a high scoring affair.
