The season is well under way and it’s time for my Colossus Bets syndicate for NFL week seven.
We’re in it to win £50,000. Here’s my preview for Week 7. If you want to be part of our Syndicate, you can get involved here.
CAR Panthers (1-6) @ PHI Eagles (1-6, 7-12)
This game could go either way. Last week, the Panthers had a let-down whereas the Eagles might have found themselves against a poor Giants team. It could end up being a low scoring (for 2018) affair. I’m giving the edge to the Eagles.
MIN Vikings (7-12, 13-18) @ NY Jets
Jets play against the QB that spurned and used them to get a better contract out of Minnesota. The Jets offense has done well against two poor defenses in the last two games but the Vikings will prove a stiffer test. The Jets defense has also been porous in their wins and now plays arguably the best wide receiver tandem in the NFL.
NE Patriots (1-6, 7-12) @ CHI Bears
Time for a Super Bowl XX repeat. The Patriots successfully unsettled Patrick Mahomes in the first half last week and now play Andy Reid’s protege Matt Nagy and his version of Mahomes, Mitch Trubisky. Trubisky is much more inconsistent than Mahomes however and the Bears don’t have the electric skill players. The Bears defense underperformed against the Dolphins and will hope Mack and Floyd etc can get to Brady before his quick passing game can settle. I’m giving the Patriots the edge here.
DAL Cowboys (1-6) @ WAS Redskins (1-6, 7-12)
There is no consistency game-to-game for either team here, but the Redskins defense (apart from the Saints blowout) is probably the most reliable unit of the two teams. This could go either way and the Cowboys have a chance if Prescott keeps running as part of the Dallas attack.
LA Rams (13-18) @ SF 49ers
The Rams are probably going to lose this season but playing a bad 49ers defense coming off a short week is unlikely to be that game. Expect the Rams train to keep rolling and they’ll be hoping to get a bit more out of their defense.
CIN Bengals (1-6) @ KC Chiefs (7-12, 13-18)
From one ‘game of the season’ to potentially another for the Chiefs. Expect to see another offensive explosion of points and defenders chasing after the ball carriers like some Benny Hill sketch. The Bengals will be hurt from the last second defeat to the Steelers, but can they keep up with Andy Reid’s scheming? Likely to be a basketball type game for long stretches.
NY Giants @ ATL Falcons (7-12, 13-18)
The Falcons games have tended to be defense free zones and Monday Night Football is unlikely to be any different. The Giants can probably expect to score some points against the injury ravaged Atlanta defense but in the dome the Falcons are too explosive and will beat the Giants comfortably.
