Last week, for the third week in a row, my Colossus Bets syndicate for NFL Week Four went 4 for 7 meaning all involved took away a consolation. Happy days! Now it’s time for my Colossus Bets syndicate for NFL Week Five – the games are upon us and below are my selected picks.
I’m in it to win £50,000 so if you think these picks sound like a win-win situation, and you want to get involved, join my syndicate here.
ATL Falcons (1-6) @ PIT Steelers (1-6, 7-12)
With both teams, there is lots of offense but not much in terms of defense. The game between these is likely to be close and who knows, may even go in to overtime.
NY Giants @ CAR Panthers (1-6, 7-12)
It’s the Dave Gettleman Bowl! Panthers coming off their bye week. They have looked good on defense and can do enough on offense to get the win. Giants so far in to the season just can’t seemed to get it, going despite their excellent skill players.
JAX Jaguars (1-6) @ KC Chiefs (1-6, 7-12)
The game sees Chiefs face their first quality defense team so I expect this to be a fight. Their porous defense will keep Jacksonville in the game, even if they do manage to keep Showtime Mahomes going. Last week, Bortles looked like a quality starter against the Jets. Could this game be a preview of the AFC Championship game? (Discount the Pats at your peril…)
MIA Dolphins @ CIN Bengals (13-18)
Last week the Dolphins came crashing back to earth against New England. They hit the road this week to go against Bengals who are a better looking offense this week. This could be one of the blowouts matches this week.
MIN Vikings (1-6) @ PHI Eagles (1-6)
This will be a repeat of the NFC Championship game, and on current form both teams will struggle to get back to the postseason this year. As far as the games goes, it could really go either way – although it might be a bit more desperate for the Vikings who are in a tougher division.
LA Rams (1-6, 7-12) @ SEA Seahawks (1-6)
Many will be writing this game off as a blowout, especially with the loss of Earl Thomas for the Seahawks. However, if the Rams go up early, that might force Wilson to give up the Schottenheimer game plan, and play sandlot football which is often when he’s at his best.
DAL Cowboys @ HOU Texans (1-6, 7-12)
The Cowboys have been up and down so far this season, and I suspect they are due another down. The Texans defense is starting to show up, and more importantly, Deshaun Watson is getting closer to last year’s version of himself. I’m giving the Texans the edge here.
