What happens when three talented American football players from Europe are taken to the United States to train for a shot at a place on an NFL roster?
NFL Undiscovered is a 12-part series of videos on YouTube, NFLUK.com and Sky Sports, following the jourey of Harry Innis, Moritz Böhringer, and Anthony Dablé in pursuit of their sporting dream. Released in a tweet by @NFLUK, you can watch the trailer here.
Innis, a tight end from England, Dablé, a wide receiver from France and Böhringer, wide receiver from Germany, begin an adventure that could lead to an NFL career by travelling to America to work with NFL coaches, current players, draft prospects and NFL legends.
Making it to the NFL requires years of ambition, dedication and sacrifice. In fact, of all the players that play college football it has been revealed that only 1.6% of these make it to the pros. For those looking to make it from outside of the college system, it is virtually impossible. NFL UK ambassador Osi Umenyiora wants to change that by giving talented European players a chance at achieving their dream.
Umenyiora, who was born in London before going on to win two Super Bowls with the New York Giants, spent the off-season working with NFL Europe, identifying three talented players and giving them the opportunity to prove themselves in front of NFL coaches.
Working with British coach Aden Durde and speed guru Tony Villani, the players will train like pros, make visits to teams, and experience the highs and lows of chasing the dream.
In what is deemed to be our version of Hard Knocks, we’ll get to see how hard the players will have to work in order to prove themselves against current free agents and those coming from college, all trying to make it to the NFL.
